It also happens to be the birthplace of my father and where my paternal family still reside. Almost every year since my birth, our family heads down to reconnect with our roots, and bask in the sun and sea. I never take for granted the beauty of the warm azure blue waters, candy colored streets of downtown Willemstad, and the sincere embraces of all our family. The arid backdrop of the Curaçao’s natural flora and fauna only intensify the surrounding colors of the architecture and sea.
