It’s funny how quickly time goes by during second and third pregnancies. Most moms-to-be are focused on taking care of first children, working, and ultimately too preoccupied embodying their inner “Wonder Woman.” Such is the case of A+J, a lovely Newport, RI couple pregnant with their second which was lovingly dubbed “Bobo” by their first babe. Shy of their due date by a few weeks - A+J contacted me for a family maternity shoot. We headed out to the beach on a super chilly, blustery day to capture a few shots of their baby to be.
The Swartz Family of five are a fun and playful bunch! With a clear picture in mind, mom Emily really wanted to have a farm-like setting to shoot in. Just short of cows roaming in the background - I think we nailed it.
Although Newport, Rhode Island is known for it’s amazing sunsets on the water, we made a late afternoon trek to Glen Park in Portsmouth to enjoy the new green grass of summer and countryside feel of its bucolic surroundings.
Nina and Nate Longley welcomed sweet baby Lucas into their life just a few weeks ago. Shot at home - This sweet newborn shoot captured Lucas, his mother and father alongside his newest cousin born just a few weeks prior. If you plan to hire a professional photographer or choose to take photos of your own, here a few tips to keep in mind:
First, plan to feed your baby right before you try to photograph him/her so he’ll be more likely to fall asleep. Sleeping babes, have such a peaceful look, whether bundled up or posed nude - with their little arms and legs exposed. Secondly, have backups of everything - outfits, blankets, diapers, food, etc! You never know who these little guys!! Thirdly, have fun and take your time. Expect to take breaks in-between poses to feed, lull your babe or comfort them when needed. The point is ti create a soothing and loving environment for everyone to enjoy their special moments together.
Strolling through the evergreens at Sweet Berry Farm with the new Mouligné family was a treat. Sweet baby Theo is just two months and all you would want in a babe. Bubbles, smiles, and an adorable disposition. We quickly took advantage of the setting sun and snapped a few pics before Theo had a chance to disagree with all the attention.
