Day in the Life: Meg + Leo

I have recently met Meg, floral designer and business owner of Rockfarm Gardens. After spending time shooting her gorgeous terrariums and lush ecosystems contained within a recycled glass vessels, we switched our focus to mom and son Leo. I spent an hour with Meg and babe, following along in their daily mid-morning routine.

Jumping on the couch, playing and displaying his toys, and trying to school mom in the art of fishing were just a few of the highlights during out time together. It just goes to show that you don’t have to “do” much during a “day in the life photo session.” An ordinary day has so many little moments worth remembering.  The way your littlest clings to your leg, carries a baby doll in each hand, or lays their head on your chest.  This won’t last forever.   Checking under the bed for monsters will soon be a thing of the past, so let’s document these moments before they are gone.

Headshots on Goat Island: Mike Sweeney

When it comes to commercial headshots, I take a great amount of pride in capturing your best natural features, your strength, and your essence. My approach to photography is natural and relationship-oriented; I love to get to know my clients before putting them in front of the lens. I want to hear all about your story - both personal and professional - so I can tell it in light and color.

My goal is to create portrait images that say something meaningful about you. Are you an actor? A business professional? A model? I am confident in my ability to craft a series of images that truly say something about who you are and your goals in life. My portraits have been described as natural, vibrant, and versatile.

When Realtor® Mike Sweeney from Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty in Newport, Rhode Island was looking to expand his customer base and showcase himself in an more natural setting, we agreed that Goat Island was the perfect locale for the shoot. Mike began his career in the yachting industry managing the Goat Island Marina on the harbor in Newport.

Goat Island is a small island in Narragansett Bay and is part of the city of Newport, Rhode Island, U.S. The island is connected to the Easton's Point neighborhood via a causeway bridge. It is home to the Newport Harbor Light (1842), residences, restaurants, event spaces, and the stunning Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina.
